Your training contract
Once you join Taylor Wessing, you'll spend your two-year training contract in four different practice groups, regardless of your degree. We'll sit down with you soon after you join to discuss which seats you'd like to take and we'll work with you to make sure this fits with the needs of the business – flexibility is key and all experience counts at this stage.
Because of the importance of corporate work right across the firm, you'll definitely need to do a seat in one of our Corporate or Finance practice groups. Contentious experience is also a must, but can be gained in our Commercial Disputes, Employment and Pensions, Trade Marks, Copyright and Media, Patents, Restructuring and Corporate Recovery or Construction practice groups. Your remaining two seats are selected by you based on your personal preferences and future career path. We’ve summed it all up in the diagram below:

Alongside your day-to-day work, we run an accredited Professional Skills Course (PSC). This covers areas including advocacy, financial and business skills, client care and professional standards. Core areas are supplemented by our own technical training and lectures, as and when needed.
